The Awakening is excited to announce a successful S.E.N.D. Week 2010 on the campus of Southwestern Christian University.S.E.N.D. (See Every Nation Discipled) is World Missions Ministries’ annual conference held at each of the IPHC colleges designed to bring awareness to college students about what World Missions is up to around the world.Matt Bennett opened the week with a message challenging students to allow God to use them in ways they've never expected. Twenty-seven students responded to Matt's message and joined us for prayer. Tuesday evening, we all had a blast during a campus-wide game of Capture the Flag giving WMM staff a chance to fellowship with SCU students.Wednesday evening, we were able to share in a more intimate, acoustic worship service with the students at which Max Barroso spoke about hearing God’s voice and direction for their future. Matt Helland, missionary to the Netherlands, shared with students at the Thursday SCU chapel about how we are called to live out the Gospel to the fullest. This was an exciting time where God moved, students were healed, many were filled with the Holy Spirit and lives were changed. Mayra Munoz and her team did an incredible job of leading us in worship during all of these services. To close S.E.N.D. Week, WMM hosted a cultural dinner Thursday evening with delicious dishes from around the world during which Sandra Board and Jackie Davis told stories to the students about their experiences as missionaries. Those students interested in a career in missions were given the opportunity to ask questions and meet WMM staff. God did an incredible work on SCU’s campus and we are excited about all of the potential missionary recruits with whom we connected as a result of this event!
