Geordan's Perspective: Amazing Grace

Friday, November 12, 2010

So, I was just thinking of stuff like life, Christmas, and surfing, when a thought came into my mind. The thought of grace. Grace is an amazing concept, isn't it? I can't possibly comprehend it or understand it fully, but I experience it everyday. The fact that the author of history, the creator of all, the breather of life loves me enough to look past all of the mistakes I have made amazes me. All of the dirt in my life, and the sin that my flesh itched to partake in has been forgotten. But it is only through the blood of Jesus Christ. The ultimate price was paid, and only through Him can I come to the Father. I know that many of us already know this, but I think we forget how amazing it really is. Either we forget, or we take it for granted. So much so that we don't realize there are millions of people who have never experienced this grace, and never will--unless someone like you or me take it to them.
We as Christians are supposed to be the closest thing to love and grace on this earth, but many times we don't portray that image. In fact, sometimes we show the total opposite. We need to get on the same page and realize that we are all here for a specific purpose! We are here to show love to the whole world; to show all that we are not trying to judge anyone's past, rather we are here to love, accept, and serve the last and the least of all people. But in order to do that, we first have to consciously accept God's grace for ourselves. It is because of grace that we are saved, and because of grace we live in light, and because of GRACE we are able to enjoy an abundantly blessed life in Jesus Christ.
God created you for a purpose; an amazing purpose, and a specific purpose that only you can fulfill. God's purpose for our lives is more radical, more incredible, and more fulfilling than any dream that we can conjure for ourselves. I firmly believe that. If I didn't, I would be chasing my own dreams right now. But I have had a small taste of what God has for me, and I'm addicted. You have not been forgotten, and if you accept the amazing unmerited grace of God right now, you can be restored. The forgiveness of the Lord is overwhelming and all consuming. God can restore the calling in your life at any moment, if you simply believe and seek Him. I encourage anyone reading this to just pray to God right now. Pray either for those who have never experienced the grace of God, that you might be a bright light to them, or that God would reveal his grace to you right now.
Remember, never be afraid to step out and be different. Let your light shine before all people, and let the love of Jesus flow through you. Without saying words, they will know you are a Christian. Always have courage and seek God's will for your life! Be blessed my friends, and thanks for reading :)
