One might think that summer, when high school and college students are out of class, would be the busiest season for The Awakening. While yes, the summer calendar holds countless mission trips, youth camps, conferences, and more, winter keeps our bags packed nearly as much so. At The Awakening, we often refer to January and February as our “American Tour.” Throughout just two short months, we are so very blessed to be a part of numerous conferences and events at which we have the opportunity to spend time with students—the future of the IPHC—and offer our help to get them connected to missions in any way possible.
Just this past weekend, we made our first stop on this so-called tour: Altitude held in Winter Park, CO. This annual event is designed by Discipleship Ministries especially for the youth of the Western IPHC conferences. At Altitude, we met with several students interested in joining one of our mission trips or participating in an overseas internship with one of our IPHC missionaries.
In a few short days from now, Max will be speaking to the men of our denomination at the Bridging Our Ministries conference in Ridgecrest, NC. Max is super honored by the invitation to share with Men’s Ministries and Royal Rangers at this event!
Not one week later, Max, Jessica, and a team of five interns will depart for Accelerant in Gatlinburg, TN. This enormously successful annual youth event gives The Awakening the opportunity to communicate to thousands of students and pastors who we are, what we do, and how we can help them get connected to what WMM is up to around the world.
From Gatlinburg, Max and Jessica will make their way to Falcon, NC for the IPHC’s Centennial Celebration! We cannot even begin to express how excited Max is about the tremendous opportunity he has been given as a featured speaker for this wonderful celebration of IPHC history!
To wrap up our winter tour of the US, we are thrilled to be returning to WMM’s annual SEND Week at Emmanuel College. We absolutely love spending time with Emmanuel’s students, faculty and staff both inside and out of the classroom. There is nothing more exciting than sharing about World Missions Ministries with the future missionaries studying at our IPHC universities!!
