2011 started off with a bang as The Awakening took part in the two Discipleship Ministries national winter youth events, Altitude and Accelerant, held in Winter Park, Colorado and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, respectively. Altitude, the annual winter youth conference for the western IPHC conferences, gave The Awakening the chance to interact with over 75 attendees—many of whom expressed their interest in missions. This event was also an excellent opportunity to network with various youth pastors and ministers while enjoying the beautiful Colorado mountains!
The East Coast event, Accelerant, never disappoints. Discipleship Ministries hosted an excellent conference with over 2,500 in attendance! Max, Jessica, and a team of five interns traveled to Gatlinburg to connect with countless students, youth pastors, and youth leaders anxious to join an open team or build a group team! We were also given the chance to promote the 2011 The Awakening/Discipleship Ministries domestic mission trip to New York! We are extremely thankful for the tremendous response from multiple youth pastors interested in being a part of this team!
